Alex Southwick, the chef behind Milton Dining, began baking pinot noir fruit cakes as a Christmas project for private dining clients. What started as a seasonal one-off grew into something worth doing properly: a small pantry brand, built the same way he cooks.

Alex built his reputation in some of New Zealand's most respected kitchens before founding Milton Dining, his private dining practice, cooking produce-led menus inside villas and lodges across the region. Remarkable Pantry carries that same instinct onto the shelf: seasonal, local, made with precision and restraint, without excess.

Remarkable Pantry is now run by Alex together with his wife-to-be, Skye, from Queenstown.

The name comes from the Remarkables, the mountain range Queenstown sits beneath. It feels right for a pantry of products created locally.

Every batch of pinot noir fruit cake is made by hand, in small runs, using local ingredients. No shortcuts, no filler, no mass production, just small batches made properly. Granola is coming soon.

Find us at Remarkable Markets, in cafés and stores around the region, or order online, made to be kept on your own shelf or wrapped up as a gift for someone else's.
